Sony Music Entertainment ("Sony Music") announced the appointment of Stephanie Yu as General Counsel and Executive Vice President, Business & Legal Affairs. In her new role, Stephanie Yu will oversee Sony Music's global commercial, legal and government affairs strategy.

Stephanie Yu has more than 20 years of experience in music industry legal matters, with extensive experience advising on music industry transactions and commercial agreements. 

Stephanie Yu began her legal career at Covington & Burling before joining Sony Music in 2005 as Executive Vice President of Business & Legal Affairs and head of the U.S. legal operations. In 2011, she joined Sony Music's Epic Records, where she rose to Executive Vice President of Business & Legal Affairs. After more than 12 years at Epic Records, Stephanie Yu returned to Sony Music in 2024.
